Tutli commercialisation project for Åbo Akademi University, Turku, Finland
Tutli grant success for Åbo Akademi University
Åbo Akademi University research group, led by Dr. Eleanor Coffey, has received a Business Finland Tutli funding for a project to develop a biomarker test for Parkinson’s disease that will diagnose the disease at a pre-symptomatic stage. The approach they have developed is applicable for diagnosis, for monitoring progression of the disease, monitoring response to treatment, or stratifying subjects for clinical studies.
Anna-Marja Hoffrén from Strategic Scientific Consulting Finland Oy helped the research group in the funding application phase and SSC team is now very excited to continue supporting the commercialization part of the recently funded project.

CuanTec Doors Open
Today, 11th Jan 2017 sees the opening of the CuanTec lab in Medicity at the Biocity complex in Scotland.
Ryan Taylor, a Strathclyde Alumnus is the COO of CuanTec, a company that has benefited from assistance from SSC through the development of their business idea, the writing of their business plan, application for SMART feasiblity award and raising of SEED funding from Angel Investors.
SSC will continue to work with CuanTec as they grow and develop with Cait Murray-Green taking the post of CEO with CuanTec in addition to her SSC duties.

Tutl Market Research for Turku University
Tutli Grant success for Turku University
SSC Finland has helped a research group from Turku University to plan their TekesTutli application earlier this year. The project received funding from Tekes and now SSC is pleased to learn that we have been successful in our bid to continue to assist the research group through planning and evaluating potential business models and making market and exploitation potential surveys.
This service, provided by Anna-Marja Hoffrén, draws on expertise gained from many years of preparing and supporting Tutl applications within MTT/Luke and is available to all research groups within Finland.

New EU trademark for SSC's Business Jumpstart® training programme
SSC is pleased to announce that it has been granted an EU Trademark for its Business Jumpstart® training programme.
Business Jumpstart® is a collection of courses that SSC have developed especially for scientists to improve their commercialisation skills.
The Trademark is valid in all 28 member states of the EU, and allows SSC to market the training programme in a consistent manner across the EU. Further details can be found on the EUIPO website.
