Grant Applications collaboration with Culmentor of Finland
Culmentor (https://www.culmentor.com/?lang=en) an established expert in EU funding and project based services and SSC (Strategic Scientific Consulting www.strategicscientfic.com) have announced a partnership to further enhance their services in Grant Application for national and international funding.
As the next era of EU funding – Horizon Europe – is rolled out it will be increasingly important to draw on multi-sectoral expertise. It is important to us to work with consultants who share our attention to detail and industrial understanding of the market sectors in which we offer assistance.”
Anna-Marja Hoffrén, MD Strategic Scientific Consulting Finland says “This partnership brings together excellence for National level funding applications and EU-funding applications from each organisation and allows us to create a more experienced team with practical knowledge of a wide range of market sectors. This is increasingly important, as the new funding instruments strive for deeper societal and industrial impacts that are rooted in sustainability and enabled by globally competitive innovations.”

Re-invention of Training Courses
SSC are creatures of habit and we have been habitually visiting Oulu University to work with their students and researchers in Autumn or Early Winter to assist them developing skills and confidence in communicating their expertise. We cover the skills needed for putting yourself forward for a new job, for creating high quality research funding applications and also for developing commercialisation potential of business ideas through a two day course that really seeks to enable participants to move forward rapidly in a very practical hands on way.
It is always fun and always enlightening for trainers as well as attendees.
This year has been different, and has challenged the SSC team to work out how to re-invent the course so it retains the individual attention that we feel really makes the course unique through the on-line environment.
And we feel that we have achieved that.
Therefore we are happy to announce that we will be making on-line versions of our training available in the coming months.
Please contact us for more details.
SSC joins the SynBio Powerhouse in Finland
Synthetic Biology is an important technology area that could have great potential for the sustainable green economy which is emerging in Europe and worldwide. Finland has launched support for companies and researchers in this area to maximise impact of their ideas and reduce timeframes for getting to market.
The SynBio Powerhouse https://www.synbio.fi/ is an innovation and business ecosystem to develop new products and services in the Synthetic Biology area where companies, research institutions and other supporting organisations often bringing specific skills and expertise are coming together. Cross-industry co-operation is key to giving different perspective and creating new innovative solutions to world problems. The Synbio Powerhouse also will ensure that those new products are a part of solving the world’s pollution and climate emergencies through a focus on bio and circular economy and zero-waste solutions that respect and save virgin natural resources.
Alongside the SynBio Powerhouse ecosystem there is the SynBio Growth Engine https://www.synbioge.fi/ where member companies are able to get deeply involved together in this emerging area. The large companies will be participating in a creative, supportive process to define what projects are the most interesting and to get co-creation, co-innovation projects involving SME and researchers happening across Finland and beyond to solve the big challenges and provide them rapid access to routes to market. This could even develop into a dedicated VC investment fund. All options are open!
This work has started now in 2020 and will continue as a new means of innovation, for as long as companies and problems require solutions.
Strategic Scientific Consulting have been included in Synbio Powerhouse as a partner available to provide services and expertise for market research, application preparation, creating internationalisation strategies within the SynBio Projects that are successful in obtaining funding.
